Generator Sales, Service & Installation in Salisbury, CT

Family-owned, factory-trained, and serving the Berkshires since 1991. 24-hour emergency generator service for Salisbury and surrounding towns.

Salisbury is the northwest-corner town of Connecticut, on the Massachusetts and New York lines. It includes the villages of Salisbury proper, Lakeville, and Lime Rock. Hotchkiss School sits in Lakeville on Lake Wononscopomuc; Lime Rock Park sits in the southern end. Year-round population is about 4,000 with a heavy seasonal presence on the Twin Lakes and Wononscopomuc shores.

Andrus Power Solutions is a Berkshire-based generator contractor in Lee, Massachusetts. Salisbury is thirty minutes south through Sheffield and Ashley Falls; it is part of our regular weekly service area along with Sharon, Norfolk, Cornwall, North Canaan, and Canaan (Falls Village).

The Three Villages

Salisbury is really three villages joined into one town. Salisbury proper is the historic village at the north end, around the Town Hall and the Scoville Library on Main Street. Lakeville is the larger village to the south, on Lake Wononscopomuc, with Hotchkiss School at its northern edge and the older commercial blocks along Route 44. Lime Rock is the southernmost, built around the famous road-racing track and the surrounding rural country.

Each village has a slightly different service profile. Salisbury and Lakeville centers have Eversource service with some natural gas in the older housing stock; the surrounding rural lots and the lakefront homes are on private wells and propane. Lime Rock is essentially all rural with the same setup.

What Salisbury Standby Installs Look Like

The affluent second-home demographic in Salisbury drives a real share of our installs in town. Lakefront houses on Wononscopomuc, on the Twin Lakes (East Twin and West Twin in Salisbury, both on the Massachusetts and New York lines), and on Long Pond are often owned out of New York City or Boston and used a few months a year. The standby install brief is freeze protection through long winter absences plus weekend reliability when the owners are at the house: whole-panel or generously sized critical-loads coverage, a large air-cooled or small liquid-cooled unit on a buried propane tank, an outdoor automatic transfer switch, and a freeze-stat alarm.

The year-round homes in Salisbury and Lakeville village are standard residential standby. The Hotchkiss area and the streets off Indian Mountain Road and Lime Rock Road are larger lots with the same configuration.

The handful of small commercial properties in Salisbury and Lakeville, the restaurants on Main Street and Holley Street, the inns, the professional buildings, are usually small liquid-cooled commercial units sized for refrigeration, IT, and lighting.

Crossing the State Line

We carry Connecticut permitting capability and we pull Salisbury permits regularly. The Salisbury wiring inspector is familiar with our work. We also keep our service trucks loaded for cross-state work; Salisbury and the rest of northwest Connecticut are far enough from any other dealer that our service-day routing is set up to handle a full day's work down here.
